More Than My Circumstances: How Lina Turned Creativity and Compassion into a Life of Purpose

When people talk about Lina today, they describe her as creative, compassionate, and someone who never forgot where she came from. Through her work as an artist, writer, editor, and mental health advocate, she has helped countless people tell their stories, express themselves, and find hope.

But Lina's purpose began long before her career. As a child, she loved drawing, writing, editing videos, and helping friends. While others saw hobbies, Lina saw possibilities. Even at a young age, she dreamed of helping people. In fact, one of her earliest dreams was becoming President so she could help people living in poverty.
That dream eventually took a different path, but the mission never changed.

One of the greatest influences in Lina's life was her mother, whose encouragement helped her believe she could build a better future. Friends, teachers, and the creative communities she followed online also inspired her to turn her passions into meaningful work.

Life, however, was not always easy.

Lina experienced homelessness and often helped care for her younger siblings. As the oldest, she carried bags out of the shelter early each morning, helped look after her siblings, and sometimes stayed awake with her baby brother so he would not disturb the other residents. At school, she was often exhausted and sometimes bullied because she did not always have proper clothing.

Those experiences shaped the way she sees people today.
"Anyone can be struggling," Lina says. "Treat people like they matter. Even if they aren't struggling, they still deserve kindness."

Instead of allowing hardship to define her, Lina chose to let it deepen her compassion. Years later, she transformed her creativity into a life of service. Through her artwork, writing, editing, and mental health advocacy, she created spaces where people felt seen, heard, and understood. Her creativity became more than a career—it became a way to help others heal.

Outside of work, Lina built the life she once dreamed about. She shares her home with her three adopted children, her beloved bunny, and her mother. She also gives back by supporting families in need, struggling businesses, medical facilities, and organizations serving people experiencing homelessness because she never forgot where she started.

Looking back, Lina is most grateful for never giving up on herself or her dreams. Her advice to others comes from experience:
"Don't give up. Stay positive, even when life is hard. It's okay to recognize that things are difficult, but don't stop believing that better days are ahead. Remember that you're stronger than you think—and that someone cares about you."

Lina hopes people remember her not only for her creativity, but for the kindness she showed others and the hope she gave to those who needed it most.

For Lina, success was never about escaping her circumstances. It was about proving that compassion can grow from hardship—and about using that compassion to help others write a better story for themselves.
