“Just Be You”: Kiante Lives Out Her Dream with Pride and Purpose
CLEVELAND, OH — Kiante, known to friends as “Kate,” is living proof that hard work, self-love, and a positive mindset can take you far. As of August 2050, she’s exactly where she wants to be: successful, proud, and doing what makes her happy.
“You don’t want to wake up every day doing something you don’t love,” Kate shared. “I wanted to wake up and say, ‘I’m going to work — and I’m happy about it.’”
For Kate, success isn’t just about money or fame. It’s about being able to take care of herself, live without stress about bills, and feel proud of the life she’s built. “To me, being rich means not having to worry — and feeling good about what I’m doing every day,” she said.
She credits her achievements to hard work and accepting support when she needed it. “It’s okay to have a little help — or even a lot of help,” she said. “There’s nothing wrong with that.”
Kate’s journey hasn’t always been easy. She used to care a lot about what people said or thought about her. But over time, she learned to block out the negativity. “Let the haters be the haters,” she laughed. “You just have to be you.”
Her personal affirmations — “Don’t give up. Hold on tight. Believe in yourself. Stay positive.” — guided her through challenges and became the foundation of the life she built.
Kate’s legacy is more than just her career or accomplishments. She hopes people will remember her as someone who was “proud, approved, rich, happy, kind, successful, friendly, helpful — and too funny!”
She traces her growth back to her summers with the Cleveland Freedom Project, where she learned that it’s okay to dream big and even okay to feel down sometimes — as long as you get back up.
“Sometimes it’s good to feel bad about yourself for a little while,” she said. “That’s how you start to feel good again.”
Her advice to others? “Be yourself. Do what makes you happy. And remember — success starts with believing in you.”
